About Fast Fashion, Mass Market, Mindless Consumerism

 FAST FASHION

Fast fashion is a term used to describe the designs that move quickly from catwalk to stores to meet new trends.
Now, it is very common to see new products being introduced very frequently and multiple times in a week to stay on trend. This is all "Fast fashion", cheaply available, which tends to attract people towards it and buy more.
Fast fashion introduces rapid production, trendy designs, and inexpensive products to the consumers which leads to the harmful impact on our environment and the surroundings we live in.
From the last few decades, a drastic change can be seen in the fashion Industry. Till the mid-twentieth century, the fashion industry would run 2 to 4 season a year. Now, fast fashion being into place, new trends are available after every few weeks.

MASS MARKET

Mass market is a term used to describe the market that produces products on a larger scale for a significant number of end consumers. In this, they follow a strategy to reach a larger number of audience by an idea of broadcasting the message through advertisement, television, radio, social sites, etc.

It focusses on high sales and low prices which aims to provide products and services with one offer or strategy that will appeal to the whole market.
Mass market is the opposite of niche mark market, as the latter targets a very specific segment of society.

MINDLESS CONSUMERISM

Consuming is all fine and an essential part of our life. We need to purchase stuffs to fulfill our needs.
But do we just stick till here ?...NO...
There's a point when this gets out of our hand and causes harm to us and the environment and we become Mindless Consumers.

Mindless consumerism occurs when we don't think before buying any stuff. It's when we don't know the reason of our purchase, It's when we buy 2 items while going on a purchase of 1 item, it's when we don't think where to fit the stuff in our wardrobe before buying them, it's when we buy something just because it's on sale, it's when we buy the same kind of dress we have it before.

We start buying more, because to fill our happiness and avoid boredom, but Mindless Consumption can lead to anxiety and stress.

This affects our environment to a large extent so, we need to be patient in buying and look for happiness in the non-materialistic things.

BUY LESS, BE HAPPIER.
