FASHION NEEDS AND CONSUMPTION - GLOBAL ASPECT

Fast fashion has converted people's Wants into Needs globally. People in the whole world are rushing towards fast fashion unaware of to which extent the  fashion industry is polluting and affecting our environment.

People desire to buy new clothes daily, shop on every occasion, quickly rushes to the malls on the arrival of every new collection.
Fast fashion has created a different mindset in the people towards fashion.
Now people think it's important to have a variety in their clothing,
to have a huge collection,
to have a new outfit for every occasion,
in a way to look good,
be trendy and a reflect a good personality.

Acquiring such mindset, they buy more, buy daily , waste more and pollute the environment more.
It is very sad to hear, people now-a-days judge each other from their outfit. If they find someone in the same outfit again, they think "oh, she don't have much dresses to wear, might be she from a low class family '; If someone wears a local market dress, they ask "u don't possess branded items".

From small children to the old ones, are aware of the new trends and collection that arises after every days. The advertisements and social sites urges people to follow the trend , to buy the new stuffs frequently.
We can see people globally buying new clothes daily and then stocking them in their wardrobes.

They might go for buying 1 piece of dress, but returning with so many pieces.
They wear less than half their clothes of their wardrobe and more than half are just unworn for months and years. And then finally they are thrown and discarded as waste.

In this way, they have cleaned up their wardrobe but What about the Environment,??

The clothes , the fabrics, the dyes dumped in water bodies or landfills, contribute to different kinds of harmful pollution in the environment.
It is affecting the environment and the place we are living and where our future generation would. What are we doing to our Environment.??

We, the people as a whole needs to take a challenge to stop this and protect our environment in our own ways..We need to bring a Change..

  1. The global health costs associated with the production of cheap clothing are substantial. With the fashion industry now being held accountable for the way they're impacting the planet, businesses now have no other options than to rethink the current business model and start creating clothes ethically and sustainably in order to meet the consumer demand.
