HARMONY
Harmony is the visually satisfying principle of design of combining similar or related elements through
- similar color
- similar textures
- similar values
- similar shapes
- similar forms
- similar lines
ASSIGNMENT
As an assignment, I was supposed to create an installation which reflects harmony in it.
I started my installation by taking an inspiration from the LAMPS.
I wanted to show the concept of light and shadows through lamps.
MY INSPIRATION

PROCESS
I started by taking white cartriage sheets and cut them into the desired lamp shapes, with the spaces and holes in them to allow the light and shadows .
Then I pasted them and compiled them.
Then I decided to create my installation on the stairs, so that I can place the lamps on different levels .
I also took a clay lamp and a fitted the bulb inside it. The idea was to give the reflections of this lamp on the paper lamps.
I arranged the paper lamps and the clay lamp on the the staircase . I also arranged the colored ligt bulbs in the paper lamps to give a color reflection.
OUTPUT
I created this installation by creating harmony using
- similar forms as I made all the lamps are of curved and cylindrical forms.
- similar texture as the lamps are of paper and have the same texture.
- similar shapes and texture in the cutouts of the lamp.
This is my final output.
