TESSELLATION
INSPIRED BY
ANGEL AND DEVIL
Tessellation is an arrangement of shapes closely fitted together in a repeated pattern with no gaps or overlapping. In this, positive and negative space has the same importance and the negative space also has a meaning and sense.
As a part of an assignment, I created a tessellation using mnemonic shapes.
THE PROCESS
I took Angel and Devil as my inspiration, to create tessellation.
Derived silhouettes out from my inspiration.
Added detailing to the silhouettes.
Then, derived the final shapes with all detailing.
Then using a rectangular grid, arranged the shapes derived in a manner it fits the grid with no gaps and overlapping.
